Equipment/Services Cost Chart


The Equipment/Services Cost Chart lists particular items or services, where in the TaleSpin world they can be acquired, how much they cost, and their damage code and difficulty, if applicable. All prices listed are not static; they are the manufacturer’s suggested price, and may vary widely depending on factors such as availability, regulation, and the locale in which they are sold. (Additional information on items can be found in corresponding portions of the "General Equipment" section.)

Characters can attempt to lower prices by using skills such as bargain and con while trading with the dealer. Of course, one does not necessarily have to go through legal channels to obtain these items — many items can be stolen as well, where character skills like hide, sneak, and pickpocket can come in handy.

The items on the equipment chart are accompanied by special codes, which indicate their availability and legal restrictions (if any).

Availability Codes

1 Readily available anywhere in the TaleSpin world.
2 Available only in large cities and seaports, or through a brand-name manufacturer.
3 Special item; available only in certain geographic regions.
4 Rare item; difficult to find anywhere, or available through only one dealer.
F Fee or permit required for purchase and use.
R Restricted. May not trade without appropriate local or state license. License may require background checks and/or high fees, depending on the nature of the item.
X Illegal. Available only to the military or other official organizations. Use or possession violates local or state law; punishments are severe.


The Black Market: Characters who need to obtain restricted or illegal items can risk going through the black market. Black market opportunities are rare, and the purchase itself may take time or involve additional dangers. Also, items sold on the black market are usually of inferior quality, and can be up to three times the price listed in the chart. Character skills like streetwise, search, and value are a great asset when dealing in the black market.
